Bike Maintenance Class – Wednesday 28th from 6:30pm

Next Wednesday (28th May) will see the first of our regular monthly Basic Motorcycle Maintenance evening classes.

This class is ideal for all who want to ensure that their bike remains in tip-top condition in between services. Held in the workshop at our Training Centre in Stockport, the class will cover:

  • Preparation – what tools you will need, fastener types and getting ready for action!
  • Removing bodywork and fairings
  • Fuel, Ignition and Exhaust systems and checks
  • Engine and gearbox oils – checking, changing and filters
  • Coolant systems
  • Drive chain maintenance – cleaning, checking, adjusting and lubricating (including how to spot worn chain & sprockets)
  • Electrical systems check – fuses, common faults, battery charging, jump and bump starting
  • Wheels and Tyres – tyre pressures, puncture repairs, checking wheels & bearings, removing and replacing wheels
  • Steering – checking movement and bearings
  • Suspension – checking forks and shocks
  • Brakes – checking / replacing pads and shoes, adjustments, brake fluid and ABS systems
  • Throttle & Clutch – checking and adjusting free-play and operation

Feel free to bring your own bike (and owner’s manual) so that you can carry out the checks on it during the course.
