Our Courses

Our courses are designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge to continuously improve your riding throughout your riding life – after all, we never stop learning!

Whether you have had some form of advanced training with the likes of the IAM or RoSPA, or have not had any training since you took your test, we are here to help.

Our Chief Instructor holds a both a RoSPA Diploma in Advanced Riding Instruction and a BTEC Level 3 Qualification in Advanced Riding Instruction, so you can be sure you’re in good hands. He also holds both a RoSPA Gold and IAM Masters with Distinction, each of which claim to be the highest standard test available to civilian riders.

Our courses are structured to take you from your current riding standard, whatever that is, and build your skills and knowledge all the way to RoSPA Gold / IAM Masters standard.

Step 1 – Initial Assessment

It starts with our DVSA Enhanced Rider Scheme Assessment. This 2-hour session introduces you to the world of post-test training and then our instructor will observe you riding in mixed road and traffic conditions to assess your current riding standard. At the end of the session you will receive a detailed report identifying the areas in most need of further development, and if your riding meets the DVSA ERS standard, you will also receive an official DVSA Certificate of ERS Completion which could qualify you for an insurance discount.

Step 2 – Advanced Riding Foundation

Our Advanced Riding Foundation course is designed to give you a thorough understanding of advanced riding principles and how they are applied to common road and traffic situations. It is a combined theory and practical course, with an online course in Motorcycle Roadcraft followed by a day and a half of on-road instruction, which are spaced at least a week apart to allow you to practice between sessions.

Step 3 – Advanced Riding Masterclass

Aimed at riders who have completed our Advanced Riding Foundation course, or who already hold an IAM advanced riding qualification or have completed the DVSA Enhanced Rider Scheme or similar, this 2-day course, with days split over at least 2 weeks, aims to take your riding up another level. At the end of this course you will have all the skills and knowledge to take your riding to RoSPA Gold / IAM Masters standard. We can also help you organise your RoSPA Advanced Riding Test if required.

Other courses

In addition to our Enhanced/Advanced Riding Courses, we also offer 2 other courses aimed at addressing specific riding concerns:

Back-2-Biking

This course is aimed at the returning biker. Perhaps you have had a time away from riding, or are getting back on a bike after a forced period of not riding. Either way, you are likely to want to rebuild your riding confidence and rekindle your love of riding – wanting to get back the feel of being in control again.

This course consists of a mix of handling exercises conducted in a safe environment and on-road riding. At the end of this one-day course you will be smiling and ready to get out there and ride again!

We recommend riders follow this course with our Advanced Riding Foundation course, so that they continue to develop the skills and knowledge that will keep them safe on the roads.
