This 4-day Training Tour takes in some of the most spectacular roads and scenery Scotland has to offer, as well as visiting some of the most iconic roads in the Scottish Highlands, including the infamous Bealach na Bà – the pass to Applecross (pictured above).
The basic outline of the route is as follows:
Day 1 : departing from our base in Stockport we take a short motorway ride to get to Nelson from where we take a ride through the stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales as we make our way north on A and B roads to the Scottish border. Once in Scotland the ride continues on A and B roads to our overnight stop at Motorcycle News’ favourite biker-friendly hotel, the Buccleuch Hotel in Moffat.
Day 2 : we leave Moffat and head further into Scotland initially on the motorway then through the Trossachs and Queen Elizabeth Forest Park towards our overnight destination at a superb guest house, the Tigh na Cheo in Kinlochleven. We will stay here for 2 nights to give us a base for exploring the Highlands.
Day 3 : from our base in Kinlochleven, we will take a long ride looping over to the coast at Applecross and back via Inverness.
Day 4 : our final day will see us complete another loop to the west coast, this time heading south and taking the coast road before rejoining the A82 via Loch Lomond to the pick up the motorway heading back into England.
To help you get the most from the Training Tour, we hold a ‘classroom’ session prior to each day’s riding, allowing you plenty of time to put the theory into practice. Our qualified advanced riding instructor(s) will also be on hand throughout the tour to provide you with personalised advice and guidance to help you further improve your riding.
