Inner Circle Training are delighted to be the official rider training partner to Greater Manchester Blood Bikes, a registered charity, which offers an out of hours and free of charge urgent medical courier service to the NHS. Their volunteers play an important part in saving people’s lives and they save the NHS money that would otherwise be used on taxis or expensive couriers.
As you would expect, their volunteer riders need to be riding at a high standard, as they will be out in all weather and traffic conditions. To ensure that they meet this standard, all their riders must:
- Have been riding for over 3 years including 12 months motorway riding
- Hold an Advanced Riding Certificate (IAM / RoSPA / Emergency Service) or;
- Undertake a DVSA Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS) Assessment and achieve a Green grade on the Core and appropriate Additional Modules with Inner Circle Training
For details of our DVSA Enhanced Rider Scheme Assessment and associated training, see here.
We also offer FREE ERS re-assessments to all CURRENT Greater Manchester Blood Bikes volunteer riders.
Riders interested in becoming volunteers for Greater Manchester Blood Bikes should first contact them directly at Greater Manchester Blood Bikes

Hi Paul,
Nick from GMBB has forwarded the link regarding attending training with a view to becoming a Blood Bike volunteer.
Appreciate if you can forward further details around the course, along with availability and costs involved.
Thanks in advance.
